It’s very annoying: You want to work on your MacBook, but it doesn’t turn on anymore. Just throwing it away now to buy a new one would be far too bad, expensive and not exactly environmentally conscious either. Fortunately, there is a solution when your MacBook won’t turn on – and that’s repair.
We at notebooknerds are experts in the field and love what we do. That’s why we know the hardware of MacBooks particularly well, recognize errors quickly and are also able to fix them quickly. We repair the following models:
If a MacBook no longer turns on, the display stays black or the notebook crashes after a few minutes, you don’t have to buy a new one. Often, the cause is a faulty logic board (also known as motherboard), a defective display or other faulty hardware.
What’s special about us is that we don’t replace components, as is usual with Apple service providers, but repair them. This is more cost-effective, environmentally friendly and thus also saves natural resources. Another advantage of this approach is that we can recover data that would otherwise be lost. Only when we can no longer repair the affected component will we replace it. The same applies to data: We will never delete data without prior consultation with you. Fortunately, this is only necessary in the rarest of cases. We very often receive very positive feedback from our customers, which you can read on Google HERE. This encourages us that we are going in the right direction.
For laymen, it is often not so easy to find the exact cause of the error, which is why the MacBook no longer turns on. All you know is that your notebook is no longer working the way it should. This is where we, the experts at notebokknerds, come in. Our special service is free fault diagnosis.
Just send us your MacBook and we will put it through its proverbial paces. Once we find the error, we will tell you the error and the price of the repair. Until we have your final okay, we’re not going to start. This way you always keep full control over your costs. We also promise you that we will never charge any fees after the fact.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Just call us during our opening hours or send us a voice message via WhatsApp.
We are currently working at our capacity limit, therefore it may take longer to process your order (approx. 5 working days).
Even we need a break 🙂 From 09.08.2021 to 30.08.2021 our team is on well-deserved vacation. Since we don't want to let you down during this time, you are welcome to send us a WhatsApp message in case of emergency. From 30.08.2021 we will be there for you again as usual.
Your MacBook no longer turns on? It may be because it just “choked”. Find out quickly and easily by trying two key combinations. With these two key combinations you can perform an SMC and an NVRAM reset.
The SMC (System Management Controller) has many tasks like controlling your fans or power management, i.e. charging your battery.
MacBooks with M1 processor no longer have SMC. A reset is therefore not necessary.
Your MacBook does not start? This can also be due to problems with the NVRAM, where settings like screen brightness, volume or even your boot partition are stored. Resetting the NVRAM is an easy way to fix some issues when your MacBook won’t turn on. You can see how to perform a reset here:
You can also find more information at iFixit.
If the shortcuts have not solved the problem, you can next check if the display has a problem.
Caps lock test
Your MacBook won’t turn on anymore and you want to check if it starts at all? You can test this by performing the following steps:
If the Caps Lock key is lit, there is a good chance that your MacBook has a problem with the display. You can find prices for a display replacement here: MacBook Display Repair
If the first two tips didn’t produce any results and your MacBook still won’t turn on, your battery might have a problem. Check if your MacBook still starts when you plug in your charging cable. If your MacBook goes out as soon as you disconnect the charging cable, then your battery is most likely faulty and needs to be replaced.
Your MacBook won’t turn on and suddenly displays a question mark or a crossed-out circle? Do you have a problem with your operating system or hard drive? Here, too, we can help you.
Your MacBook won’t turn on and you want to know why? Then simply book a free fault diagnosis and our experts will tell you exactly where the problem lies and how to fix it.
If you live in Dortmund or the surrounding area, you are also welcome to bring us your MacBook, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro in person during our opening hours. We usually find the error quickly and in most cases we can fix it quickly. If you need your MacBook back quickly, you can also book an express service. We will then prioritize your MacBook and process it within 24 or 48 hours.
There are many reasons why your MacBook may not turn on. Sometimes it is also the case that only the display is defective, while everything else works smoothly. But regardless of what the reason is: We at notebooknerds will find the reason and fix it.
When the MacBook no longer turns on and a defective logic board (motherboard) is the reason, many customers are afraid that the data will be lost. Most of Apple's service providers only replace the motherboard, which also causes the data to be lost. We, on the other hand, repair them, preserving your data and protecting the environment in the process.
If your MacBook doesn't turn on, you don't have to dispose of it. We at notebooknerds fix it. The price, of course, depends on the effort and which components need to be repaired. If you send us your MacBook, we will look at it for free and then we will tell you the price for the repair. We will not start the repair without your explicit consent. Promised.
